This course will help you get the basic skills you need to gain a junior level position in the food service industry. You’ll learn food safety and hygiene, food preparation and cooking techniques along with service skills and knowledge. After this course you may pathway into further study or employment in the hospitality industry or wider community.
Course structure: Three days in class, one-day practicum placement (Hospitality industry), one day self-directed learning (SDL).
If you wish to enrol in this course, you must:
- Attend an interview to assess your suitability for the programme.
- Be a New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency.
- Be at least 16 years old unless you have an exemption to leave school.
