WHAT IS IT?

This programme will provide you with the knowledge of food hygiene and safety, an essential requirement for anyone working in a commercial kitchen environment.

Topics include (depending on the course you choose)
– Unit Standard 167 Practice food safety methods in a food business.
– Unit Standard 168 Demonstrate knowledge of food contamination hazards, and control methods used in

WHERE WILL IT TAKE ME?

These courses are designed to give you the basic skills you need to start a career in hospitality or the wider community. Once you’ve completed this programme you may pathway into more study in the hospitality Industry.

THE DETAILS

Training includes both theory and practical aspects of safe food handling to NZQA-level standards.

This one-day training course can be carried out at one of our training centres in Auckland. In some cases, training can be arranged at your workplace.

The course finishes with an assessment comprising questions that are answered in both open book and closed book format.

IS IT FOR ME?

To apply for these courses you must attend an interview to assess your suitability for the programme. You must also be a New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency.
