Workforce Development is a Private Tertiary Education Organisation (TEO) whose core purpose is to provide heartfelt and innovative education solutions, training and support that is tailored to our tauira (learners), their whanau (family) and the communities we work with.
For almost 30 years we have worked alongside our communities, providing our services to people from many different nationalities and we are truly honored to be able to help the tauira that we have over the years.
Our kaiako are incredibly passionate about what they do, we all work together in order to provide our tauira with the best experience we possibly can as they gain their qualification and reach for the stars!
Together, we truly are a ‘Workforce Whanau’.
Right now, we have an opportunity for a kaiako that loves working in the outdoors, to join our amazing team to support the delivery of the Te Hauhake I Te Mana programme from our Napier campus.
Ideally, you will have a desire to help and encourage our tauira of all ages to achieve through whenua (land) based activities using a hauora (wellbeing) approach whilst also embedding our tauira with applied literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
You will bring energy and creativity to our passionate team – working in an enriching and rewarding environment.
You will also have a background, strong interest or experience training in the outdoors.
You will be working with tauira who will be looking to you for inspiration and motivation to become confident, independent individuals.
Our preferred applicant will:
- Enjoy working or playing in the outdoors
- Have a passion and experience working with youth (15 – 19 years old)
- Be willing to upskills towards an Adult Teaching qualification and unit standard 4098
- Have a willingness to learn and embrace aspects of Te Ao Māori
- Have good computer skills for administration of classes
- Hold a full driver’s license.
