WHAT IS IT?
Health & Wellbeing is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction. It’s a complex interaction of a person’s physical, mental, emotional and social health factors. Health & Wellbeing is not just about the absence of disease or illness. It is a wider concept of how a person feels about their quality of health and life.
Our Health & Wellbeing diploma incorporates 200 hours of practical work. The Diploma is designed to qualify advanced support workers who work closely and collaboratively to support people and whānau with complex needs. The programme is centred on developing the competencies needed to support client’s complex needs. The learning is transferred into work practices.
WHERE WILL IT TAKE ME?
Graduates will be equipped with a broad operational and theoretical knowledge of a range of Health & Wellbeing / Hauora concepts. They will be able to work in paid roles in the Health & Wellbeing sector as advanced support workers in a range of settings including youth work, social services, community and home support, disability support, healthcare services, and health & addiction support. They may progress to advanced diploma or degree level studies in a range of Health-related professions
